Medical Qigong – Health & Wellness Consultation
A medical qigong consultation consists of an in depth look at your health history, lifestyle, emotional well-being, diet, work, exercise, and family history. All of this information along with your present health concerns are woven into a comprehensive and totally individualized qigong and wellness program.
You will learn qigong exercises, self-massage or meditation creating a complete routine on the first visit. We then meet for subsequent sessions to refine your practice and make additions if necessary.
Clients use medical qigong to both heal and prevent disease, to age more gracefully and achieve long life with serenity and overall wellness. Qigong is a great adjunct to acupuncture or other medical practices and won’t interfere with allopathic medicines or treatment. For all medical issues, please consult your primary care doctor before embarking on a new fitness program.
Individual Qigong sessions are available in the Ashland, Oregon area or at retreats when I’m teaching. I also can do skype sessions for international clients.
For the session: please wear comfortable workout clothes and no jewelry. You can record the session if you like and bring a notepad (ipad) to write down your qigong program.
Medical Qigong: The oldest Energy Medicine
Qigong is an integral component of Chinese medicine and acupuncture which is used to obtain optimal health, longevity and self-healing. Medical Qigong is both an art and science of the human body, which explores and augments our innate energetic reserves of Qi (chi energy). This undeveloped well of energy is within all of us and can be potentiated through Qigong practice. You can learn to induce Qi and direct it purposefully to a certain area or along defined channels inside your body to heal many diseases/imbalances including joint pain, depression, high blood pressure and even cancer.
Practitioners enjoy increased vitality and enhanced immunity since Qigong enhances oxygen and blood exchange throughout the body, increasing nutrition, light and life force in the cells. The deep abdominal qigong breathing alone expands lung capacity and also reduces stress, calms the spirit and invokes a heightened spiritual awareness for overall well-being.
There are a myriad of scientifically documented physiological shifts that occur in medical Qigong and researchers around the world are currently exploring the vast potential of this ancient energy medicine. Qigong is fitness ‘from the inside out’ that will sustain ones vivacity and health throughout life.
